Marriage and sex are temporary and will pass away ....
Why do we cling to pagan love that will soon pass away ?
Jesus said there will be no marriage in the Kingdom.
Why do Christians ignore verses like this?
Do we ignore them because we don't like them and because and want to believe we all live happily ever after the way we want to live happily ever after ?
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Children don't get married --- Children don't lust after the other sex---Children don't have sex
Children aren't confused and clouded with passions and emotions ... they just LOVE unconditionally
In the Kingdom we are children of our Father and Mother; we are brothers and sisters .... brother & sisters love unconditionally
And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Marriage will NOT go forth in the Kingdom.
Marriage was only instituted after the fall to bring forth the Almighty's people here on earth. We go forth in the Kingdom as brothers and sisters; children of the Father.
Isn't that what we call each other when we become followers ?
Why would it be different for a husband and wife ?
Aren't Christians commanded to hate the things that pass away ?
The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.
1 John 2:17
YOUR SAVIOR said there will be no marriage in the Kingdom:
Mat 22:30 - For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Mar 12:25 - For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
Luk 20:35 - But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
The Christ came and told us to repent = change our ways
Your Savior said, when asked about marriage - Mt 19:11-12
All men cannot receive this sayings, save to whom it is given.
For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs which have made themselves eunuchs for the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN'S SAKE. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it !
Right after talking about marriage...He tells us the chosen will abstain from sex and desires.....are you receiving it ? ignoring it or explaining it away ?
EUNUCH - one who voluntary abstains from marriage
The Eternal was NOT born from sexual intercourse, i.e. from ‘sinful flesh’
Was sex the original sin?
Many say yes, citing that in the Genesis account, the forbidden fruit (often referred to and pictured as an apple) in the Garden of Eden was a symbol of sexual relations, so when Adam and Eve sinned by eating the fruit, then the "sin" must have been a sexual one. The woman was beguiled or seduced.
Perhaps the best example of this principle of cause and effect of Divine Law is the exercise of the sexual nature of men and women. God’s Divine Law arranged the sexual nature of men and women to provide all good things for them and the world we know as Earth. God carefully designed things so that this sexual function, like everything else in life, provided both privileges and responsibilities. The privileges are the undeniable pleasures of the sexual embrace. The responsibilities, on the part of the husband is the care and protection of his wife and family, and on the part of the wife is the trials and dangers of bearing children as well as the required dedication to raising them. Under these circumstances, we should not be surprised to discover that one of man's and woman’s first efforts to circumvent the Divine Law was an attempt to enjoy the pleasures of sexual congress without accepting the natural consequences of such acts. ex: CONTRACEPTION
Adam and Eve symbolize the beginning of human desire to transgress the Divine Law by attempting to “steal” sexual pleasure while refusing to accept the responsibilities for their actions. In fact, such desires and resultant actions are the root of nearly all the “sin,” disease and suffering in the world today. It does seem that many continue to follow in the footsteps of Adam and Eve. Such actions create the same debt that forced Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden, the same debt that brought about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the same debt that produced the downfall of Greece and Rome. It was, and is, our greatest obstacle to finding true health and happiness on this planet.
The early Church Father Augustine said sin had its beginnings in sexual desire on Adam's part. The magazine PsychologyToday said, "Adam's sin was carnal knowledge." Conversely, the Encyclopædia Britannica says that the "knowledge of good and evil" was "a classic expression for all knowledge." The tree of knowledge of good and evil is the tree of lusts and desires. Adam man became aware of the worldly desires over serving the Father! Just as we do today ... we choose pleasures over the ways of the Most High, yet we call ourselves righteous.
Isn't this why the TV, music everything around us is flooded with sex, sex, sex.... the adversary wants us to constantly think about sex. If they push it ... isn't something wrong with it ? They rule the material world so everything the encourage is wrong. They are whispering in our ears sex is great do whatever feels good ... you won't die!
Gilgamesh and the Fall of Adam
The connection between the serpent who steals the plant of life and the serpent in the Garden of Eden story who robs Adam and Eve of access to the tree of life is well known. But there are additional parallels between the Gilgamesh Epic and the story of Adam's fall in Genesis 3. These are more subtle, but appear unmistakably, provided one takes the view that the forbidden "fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil" was a euphemism for carnal knowledge and that the fall was a sexual seduction.
So if sex was the great 'sin' ...When did marriage begin? When man sinned.
Before that, there was no marriage, not in the present-day sense.
Celestial beings in Heaven are not propagated, but are immortal they aren't BORN and don't experience death. Beings on earth are propagated, we are born and die, we are mortals. ~ LEGENDS
Marriage was instituted on earth after the fall of Adam man to bring forth the Almighty's people as mortals to experience birth, pain, suffering and death, it is our punishment from sinning in Paradise. Sex is a fleshly desire, when you are eternal you are... you aren't born. Sex and reproduction are for mortals, it's a fleshly desire and it isn't going forth in the kingdom.
The Fallen angels envied mortal man's conjugal relations, that is why they turned on the Almighty and had sexual relations with Adam's women. The Almighty doesn't want this happening again ... are you willing to give up satisfying your sexual needs and lusting for women and live without it for eternity ?
ENVY! Envy is a little sin, Satan tells us; but God says, it's a biggy! Look at the 10 commandments, they ALL grow mainly from the root or the sin of envy.
Do you lust at another man's wife ? isn't that envying something that isn't yours ?
"Do not covet your neighbor's house. Do not covet your neighbor's wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else your neighbor owns."
If your LAWFULLY married you are NOT sinning ...
but can you serve 2 masters ?
are you lusting ? are you putting the Almighty above your spouse and your desires ? what's the first thing you think of in the morning ? and the last thing you think of when going to sleep ?
Why cling to something that is temporary and can lead you astray ?
Sex and fleshly desires will pass away ..... when you are eternal you aren't BORN = no need for carnal relations....
The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.
1 John 2:17
Wasn't Jesus pointing out that MARY = WOMEN .... and that we are to look at
A WOMAN as a mother, sister, daughter or cousin? as one family ?
NOT as a sex object
When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own
For the Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you, without any of the heats of lust.
So that which shall be born of you shall be only holy, because it only is conceived without sin, and when born, shall be called the Son of God.
Then Mary, stretching forth her hands and lifting her eyes to heaven, said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.
Birth of Mary VII - 19-21
These words conveyed the desire of God that he cut asunder every bond uniting him with earthly concerns, he was even to give up his conjugal life. Michael spoke to God: O lord of the world, can it be thy purpose to destroy mankind? Blessing can prevail only if male and female are united, and yet thou biddest moses separate from his wife.
God answered, Moses has begot children, he has done his duty toward the world. I desire him to unite himself now with the Shekinah, that she may descend upon earth for his sake.
Legends of the Jews - Vol 2: 122
He was even to give up his conjugal life. (Moses)
Legends of the Jews - Vol 2: 316
and that which is born appear to be not the product of lust, but the gift of God.
Birth of Mary II-5
I am the strength of the strong, devoid of passion and desire. I am sex life which is not contrary to religious principles. O lord of the bharatas (Arjuna).
Bhagavad-gita -Knowledge of the Absolute 11
The Gita goes on to explain:
Sex life, according to religious principles (dharma) should be for the propagation of children, not otherwise.
Why strive to find death in love? Hear the apostle who says, that you give not place to the flesh through the liberty of God. And again: Fulfill not the lusts of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh…. These are opposed to one another.
Pseudo Titus & Gal 5:13
The Lord himself was asked when His kingdom would come, he said, “when the two are one, and the outside like the inside and the male with the female is neither male nor female”
Letter Clement 2 – Gospel of Thomas 22 – Gospel of the Egyptians
Simon Peter said to them, "Make Mary leave us, for females don't deserve life." Jesus said, "Look, I will guide her to make her male, so that she too may become a living spirit resembling you males. For every female who makes herself male will enter the kingdom of Heaven.
Gospel of Thomas 114
‘the male with the female is neither male nor female’ means this, that a brother sees a sister should think nothing about her being female and she should think nothing about his being male
Letter of Clement 5
The cunning, accursed serpent seduced me with the tree of desire and lusts, yea
he seduced the wife of my bosom.
Legends -Book of Raziel
Then I was defiled in the thought of my heart.
I recognized a sweet desire for your mother.
Apoc of Adam 8-9
Go back to the beginning -
Woman was made for man as a helper, an aide
The Father created a helpmate - not a playmate
Adam recognized the woman as different than the animals. He saw in her a part of himself. He recognized that she was part of him and that he was part of her. He recognized that she was the helper fit for him. She was the help meet for him.
The old English phrase: help meet, has been turned into the word helpmate. One who helps, aids.
She was created to be a helper for the man. She was created to be his helpmate in the garden – to assist him.
Our idea today of marriage is completely corrupted by the adversary. A wife is a helper not a sex mate, sex is for reproducing and not for satisfying carnal pleasures.
When God bestowed Paradise upon in the first pair of mankind, He warned them against carnal intercourse with each other.
Legends -The Birth of Cain
I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you will bring forth children; Yet your desire will be for your husband, And he will rule over you.
One should hold one's body, neck and head erect in a straight line and stare steadily at the tip of the nose. Thus with an unagitated subdued mind, devoid of fear, completely free from sex life, one should meditate upon ME within the heart and make ME the ultimate goal of life.
Chastity in Hinduism "Brahmacharya or spotless chastity is the best of all penances; a celibate of such spotless chastity is not a human being, but a god indeed... To the celibate who conserves the semen with great efforts, what is there unattainable in this world ? By the power of the composure of the semen, one will become just like Myself."
Christ says, the unmarried think day and night on godly things, to act properly and to please Him alone, and not to deny by their doings what they have promised in words.
Why should a virgin already betrothed to Christ be untied with a carnal man ?
Pseudo-Titus - 1 Cor 7:34
St. Augustine makes some really good points - for those with ears to hear
Sermon on the Mount, Book I, § 41.
“Therefore, if I were to ask any good Christian who has a wife, and even though he may still be having children by her, whether he would like to have his wife in that kingdom; mindful in any case of the promises of God, and of that life where this incorruptible shall put on incorruption, and this mortal shall put on immortality; though at present hesitating from the greatness, or at least from a certain degree of love, he would reply with execration that he is strongly averse to it.
Were I to ask him again, whether he would like his wife to live with him there, after the resurrection, when she had undergone that angelic change which is promised to the saints, he would reply that he desired this as strongly as he reprobated the other.
Thus a good Christian is found to love in one and the same woman the creature of God, whom he desires to be transformed and renewed; but to hate the corruptible and mortal conjugal connection and sexual intercourse: i.e. to love in her what is characteristic of a human being, to hate what belongs to her as a wife. . . . It is necessary, therefore, that the disciple of Christ should hate these things which pass away, in those whom he desires along with himself to reach those things which shall for ever remain; and that he should the more hate these things in them, the more he loves themselves.”
The perfect Christian couple live together as brother and sister
Sermon on the Mount, Book I, § 42.
“A Christian may therefore live in concord with his wife, whether with her providing for a fleshly craving, a thing which the apostle speaks by permission, not by commandment; or providing for the procreation of children, which may be at present in some degree praiseworthy; or providing for a brotherly and sisterly fellowship, without any corporeal connection, having his wife as though he had her not, as is most excellent and sublime in the marriage of Christians: yet so that in her he hates the name of temporal relationship, and loves the hope of everlasting blessedness.”
Complete abstinence is easier than perfect moderation.
That chastity in the married state is God’s gift, is shown by the most blessed Paul, when, speaking on this very subject, he says:
"But I would that all men were even as I myself: but every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that." Observe, he tells us that this gift is from God; and although he classes it below that continence in which he would have all men to be like himself, he still describes it as a gift of God.
Dhamma-vinaya; the Buddha's Path of Practice Gautama
Buddha referred to the path that he prescribed his students as dhamma-vinaya (dhamma is the conventional rendering of the Pali word into Roman script compared to Sanskrit which is rendered as dharma) which means this path of discipline (vinaya means discipline). The path of the Buddhas (Gautama Buddha saw himself as one in a long line of Buddhas stretching back into remote antiquity) is a path of self-imposed discipline. This discipline involves refraining as much as possible from sexual activity (this is called Brahmacarya, a code of ethical behavior (Śīla) and effort in the cultivation of mindfulness and wisdom.
The word brahmacharya stems literally from two components:
- Brahma, (shortened from brahman), the absolute, eternal, supreme God-head. (As opposed to Brahmā, the deity in the Hindu triad responsible for creation).
- charya, which means "to follow". This is often translated as activity, mode of behaviour, a "virtuous" way of life.
